I took an anatomy class as a college freshman and I was hooked. I thought the human body was the most amazing thing I had ever studied. That class, my own experiences with exercise, and a desire to help people lead me toward a career in Exercise Physiology. In fact, I am still an American College of Sports Medicine certified Health/Fitness Director. I soon learned that all my knowledge about the inner workings of the body did little to help me do what I loved most - help people change. So, after about four years as an exercise physiologist, I decided to pursue a doctorate with the goal of learning to help people change. I enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin in 1991. I wanted to see how living by "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" would help people be more well. The result was that I developed a way to measure wellness that people still ask me about all the time. See perceivedwellness.com.

With zestful and positive purpose, Donna and I have served South Africa with positive psychology and quality of life initiatives.  Ask us about our singing debut. We look forward to serving your organizations with a positive purpose. I stay professionally involved in the Wellness industry by serving as the Editor for the Database section of the American Journal of Health Promotion.  I am the go to guy for WellSteps, an inspiring and positive way to support organizations in delivering wellness.
